Known for blending technical precision with cinematic emotion, his music draws inspiration from legends like John Petrucci, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck, while evolving a voice uniquely his own.
Sutej first made waves with his 2018 debut album, The Emerging, which topped the Apple Music India Rock Charts and featured collaborations with globally renowned musicians like Peter Henningsson, Scott Higham, Raymond Hearne, Kylan Amos, and Gina Luciani. The release established him as a rising force in instrumental rock and caught the attention of guitar aficionados across the globe.
Now, seven years later, Sutej returns with his second full-length record, Restless | Relentless — “the work of a man refreshed and ready to take it to the next level,” as described by Apple Music. While the soaring, cinematic textures that recall Petrucci and Pink Floyd remain, the album also marks a bold step forward in artistic identity. The Indian classical-fused lead single “Kaadambari” and the emotive title track reflect an artist determined to leave a signature mark — creating music that is as visceral as it is virtuosic.
Over the past two years, Sutej has played to packed venues and appeared on some of the country’s most revered festival stages, including Ziro Festival, Bandland, Oddball Festival, and the legendary Independence Rock Festival. In 2023, he opened for Steve Vai in Bengaluru and Mumbai — a full-circle moment of recognition and arrival.
